Mine waste management

Piteau Associates Engineering Ltd. has experience in all aspects of mine waste disposal and management. We have completed design, permitting and construction of waste rock dumps, involving several million cubic metres of weak rock founded on steep terrain or compressible soils. Many projects involved design of flow-through rock drains and have required assessments of potential for acid rock drainage.

We have also applied our skills to tailings impoundments and sedimentation ponds in environmentally sensitive areas requiring innovative design solutions to minimize visual and environmental impacts.
