Available Opportunities

Piteau Associates is going through an exciting phase of growth with the addition of more than 50 employees in our Geotechnical and Water Management groups in the last few years. To keep up with this growth, we are expanding our geotechnical group capabilities with highly respected industry leaders in our operations.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Report to and assist the HSE manager to implement and maintain comprehensive HSE management systems to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.

  • Be a resource for field personnel by helping staff through any issues related to Safety, Health or Environmental. 

  • Provide guidance and support to project teams on HSE matters, including risk assessments and hazard mitigation.

  • Assist the HSE manager with training courses such as MSHA refresher and New Miner classes.

  • Learn and stay informed of MSHA laws and state, local, client and Piteau rules and regulations. 

  • Stay updated on emerging HSE trends, technologies, and regulations to enhance organizational performance.

  • Engage with regulatory authorities and industry groups to stay informed of requirements and best practices.

  • Attend contractor safety meetings and share information with employees affected. 

  • Participate in site inspections, audits, and assessments to identify hazards and ensure safety protocols.

  • Collaborate internally and externally to promote safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement.

  • Assist with incident investigations and root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Ability to do basic Industrial Hygiene testing. 

  • Manage and maintain field equipment warehouse.

  • Take ownership of the field equipment warehouse and maintain organization, housekeeping, records and inventory.

Required Qualifications 

We are looking for candidates possessing some or all of the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.

  • Minimum 2 year of HSE experience within the consulting, mining (MSHA), or related industrial sectors (OSHA), demonstrating an understanding of operational and strategic HSE requirements. In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and best practices.

  • Proficient in the latest HSE regulations, with a proven ability to influence and enforce standards across multinational teams.

  • Strong leadership, self-motivated, detail oriented, problem-solving, and communication skills, capable of multi-tasking and interact with employees, management, vendors and clients 

  • Capable of fostering an environment of compliance and safety excellence.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HSE management software applications.

  • Ability to drive ¾-ton to 1-ton pickup and back a trailer. 

  • Some mechanical ability and experience.

  • Be able to do limited amount of overnight travel within the state and to other states. 

  • Lift up to 50 Lbs. occasionally.
