Available Opportunities

Piteau Associates is going through an exciting phase of growth with the addition of more than 50 employees in our Geotechnical and Water Management groups in the last few years.

We are seeking a Junior Hydrogeologist to join our Canadian Hydro Group, based in our North Vancouver office, starting in January or May 2027.

Skills and Responsibilities

  • Assisting with borehole logging, installation and maintenance of groundwater wells, hydraulic well testing, and surface and groundwater sampling.

  • Supporting the development and implementation of groundwater monitoring programs for mines and contaminated sites.

  • Participating in hydrogeologic testing, including step and constant rate aquifer testing, injection testing, airlift testing, and packer testing.

  • Assisting with pumping and monitoring well design and construction.

  • Interpretation and analysis of hydrogeological monitoring and characterization data.

  • Assessment and mitigation of potential environmental impacts for mining operations.

  • Hydrogeology characterization for water supply and wastewater disposal projects.

  • Analyze and interpret hydrogeological data using GIS, 3D visualization, and other analytical tools..

  • Prepare technical reports, figures, presentations, and data summaries.

Required Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Geological Engineering, Hydrogeology, Geoscience, or a related discipline from a recognized university.

  • Registration (or ability to register) as E.I.T. or G.I.T. with EGBC.

  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license.

  • Previous relevant geotechnical or hydrogeological consulting and design experience in open pit mines would be considered an asset.

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ArcGIS/QGIS, Python, and groundwater analysis or modeling software (e.g., AquiferTest, MODFLOW, FEFLOW).

  • Willingness to travel domestically, internationally, and to remote locations.
